The St. Louis Cardinals are on the verge of being swept by the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 World Series. On the other hand, the Boston Red Sox are on the verge of winning their first World Series since 1918.
Could it be? Is the "Curse of the Bambino dead? We shall see in the remainder of this series. Like one sports writer said recently, "The planets are aligned just right and the Red Sox will win the 2004 World Series".
As far as the St. Louis Cardinals, they have got to win at least one game in this series, just for the sake of pride.
But for that to happen...Albert Pujols, Scott Rolen, Jim Edmonds, and Larry Walker have to wake up and start hitting. Give credit to the Red Sox, they have scored a ton of runs with two out, key hits. also, they haven't
made any "Bone-Head" base running mistakes like the Cardinals have. Like the Jeff Suppan blunder in Game #3. Who knows, that could have changed that game around completely if Suppan would have scored. It would have been
tied at 1-1, with a runner on third, one out, and Albert Pujols at the plate. But, it's too late for "should of's" and "could of's" for the St. Louis Cardinals. They have put themseleves in a dark, deep hole, and it doesn't look
like they can get out of it. But, who knows? We all thought that in the Yankees-Red Sox Series, when the Sox went down 0-3 to New York. Only to have Boston come back and win four straight
games to send the mighty New York Yankees home for the winter. But, it is unlikely. We shall see.
